Recognition Honors Lifetime Contribution to Hospice and Palliative Care Social Work
Dr. Gary Stein, professor at the , has been selected for the 2017 Career Achievement Award from the Social Work Hospice and Palliative Care Network.

Each year, the Network鈥檚 members honor their peers for outstanding achievements in social work hospice and palliative care. Awardees are among the top leaders in hospice and palliative social work, having made a significant professional contribution to the field for 15 years or more through a body of work including theory development, professional presentations, teaching, research, publishing and professional practice.
鈥淣ot only is this award personally gratifying,鈥 said Stein, 鈥渂ut it also recognizes the emerging growth of hospice and palliative social work, an area that will see significant expansion in the decade ahead. Wurzweiler is addressing these developments in its MSW curriculum through our Gerontology and Palliative Care Certificates.鈥

Through his efforts, Wurzweiler is becoming a thought- and practice-leader for social work education in these areas.鈥
