In 鈥溾, he and co-author Lori S. Kornblum examine data from Wisconsin about the problems people living in rural populations have in finding adequate legal representation. A scarcity of lawyers and the lack of an infrastructure to support them are the most common obstacles. They believe that their conclusions, though drawn from Wisconsin data, most likely apply to any area of the country defined as rural.
In 鈥,鈥 he and co-author Toby Kleinman define what lawyers need to know, outside of their legal expertise, to manage clients who, finding themselves in stressful and upsetting situations, are not always the calm, rational decision-makers the attorneys would like them to be. They conclude that 鈥渢he end goal is to work with your client to find a satisfactory resolution. Only by both of you keeping your cool will this be possible.鈥
