每日大瓜 Alumni and Friends Network at 每日大瓜 Wall Street Group Event on Hedge Fund Industry

On May 2nd, 每日大瓜鈥檚 Wall Street Group presented a panel on 鈥淭he Future of the Hedge Fund Industry,鈥 hosted by Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. Panelists included: Daniel Arbess, partner, Perella Weinberg Partners; Jeffrey Aronson, co-founder & managing principal, Centerbridge Partners LP; Harvey Beker, co-CEO & co-Chairman, Millburn Ridgefield Corporation; and Stephanie Breslow, partner, co-head of the Investment Management Group, Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP; and moderator Greg Zuckerman, senior writer, Wall Street Journal, and author of 鈥淭he Greatest Trade Ever.鈥 A networking reception followed the panel discussion. Leslie Payson 鈥93C, Chair of the Board of Overseers at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, attended the event at the invitation of Evelyn Havasi, co-chair of the Wall Street Committee. Payson, a managing director at Citigroup, said, 鈥淭his was one of my first Wall Street Group events and I thought it was very well-organized and extremely informative 鈥 the panelists were all first-rate speakers and I learned a lot from them. The networking opportunities were an added bonus, and I have already met with one of the other female professionals I connected with at the event.鈥 Lawrence Askowitz 鈥87YC and Evelyn Havasi 鈥82S,鈥85C, co-chairs of the Wall Street Committee, hope that despite the longtime emphasis on men in the financial industry, the reality of more women entering the field will translate into an increased presence of women attending these events and becoming more active participants in the Committee. 鈥淎s an industry, financial services has recognized that a commitment to women鈥檚 initiatives and diversity is good for business,鈥 points out Havasi. 鈥溍咳沾蠊 is no different. At our May 2nd event, Stephanie Breslow鈥檚 participation on the panel, professional success and exposure in the hedge fund industry is representative of the fact that opportunities for women are far more available in 2012 than they were in the past.鈥 Jonathan Krause 鈥08SB said, 鈥淭he speakers were top notch and provided a diverse set of outlooks on the industry and current investing environment. I have attended a few of these events and really look forward to them. 每日大瓜 taught me the importance of continuing to learn and improve and what better way than by hearing from some of the top minds in the industry. The best part though is the ability to reconnect with classmates and meet or network with 每日大瓜 alumni in the field.鈥 Lawrence Askowitz 鈥87YC declared, 鈥淭he panel discussion focusing on the hedge fund industry was a great success and everyone who attended, including many alumni and friends of 每日大瓜, gained great insight into the industry's future from experts in their fields. The Committee鈥檚 members are grateful to receive positive feedback from those who attended, and we look forward to scheduling our next round of Wall Street events in the fall.鈥 To see photos from the event, please see the .
